DONNIE NEUENBERGER
Donnie Neuenberger has been racing cars and trucks for 10 years,
competing in Late Model Stock, Goody’s Dash Series, Hooters Pro Cup, ARCA, and
the Busch North Series. Most recently, he has been competing in the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series.
Although racing a limited schedule, Donnie gives his best performances
on the track at Daytona. His introduction to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series was at the 2000 Daytona 250 where he competed in a tough field of 54
entries. With great pride Donnie started 26th in the race with a 9th
place finish. The following year he ran the same race with a 15th
place finish. In 2002 Donnie will again be racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series. This time he plans to finish in the top 10 and earn the title Rookie of
the Year. The Rookie of the Year competition is not new to Donnie. While racing
in the Goody’s Dash Series in 1993, he finished third among the Rookie of the
Year candidates.
The Brandywine, Maryland native started his driving career in 1992 racing
in the NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series. Donnie has been involved with race drivers such as Clifford and
Davey Allison, the legendary Bud Moore race team, and the Skoal Bandit race
team with driver Harry Grant. A
highlight in Donnie’s racing career included being asked by the great Dale
Earnhardt to ride the track in the pace car at Martinsville Speedway prior to
his Goody’s Dash race with Kerry Earnhardt and Dale at the wheel.
In the late 1990s Donnie drove for GEM Motorsports out of
Hendersonville, N.C. running in the NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series.
While continually trying to establish a full schedule, Donnie proved he has
what it takes by consistently finishing in the top 10 at places like Hickory
and Caraway Speedway—some of the toughest short tracks in the country. Proving
his ability to qualify in the top 10 at places like Bristol and Louisville
Speedways, Donnie is sure to be one of the future bright stars of NASCAR
racing.
